Varieties of almost minimal degree (second lecture)

This is the second lecture of a cycle of three lectures. The first one introduced varieties of minimal degree. Now we start with the classification of varieties of almost minimal degree, that is, of degree equal to codimension + 2 following the idea of classification by projections of varieties of minimal degree.
