Some problems in geometric group theory II

This is the second of a series of two talks where I will present a gentle introduction to the motivating problems of geometric group theory as introduced and solved by Dehn in the case of hyperbolic surfaces; the word and conjugacy problems. I will introduce the modern viewpoint of discrete groups as geometric objects, after Gromov, and discuss Gromov hyperbolic groups.
